Learning Edge's 4th Infocomm Adventure Quest

The annual Learning Edge’s Animation Workshop is BACK, with a brand new name, “Infocomm Adventure Quest”. Organized by Marshall Cavendish Online’s (MC Online’s) Training and Infocomm department, this workshop allows students from different schools to come together as one body for a day of fun and digital enrichment activities. Held on 1st June 2012, Holy Innocents’ Primary School was the host school for this year’s event.

Infocomm Adventure Quest

The students were divided into teams of 8 to 9 and worked together in these teams during all the activities. In doing so, they were able to develop a rapport with their fellow peers and strike up friendships with pupils from other schools.

Excited students gathered at Holy Innocents’ Primary School

This year, to further galvanize the event, we increased the number of digital media and hands-on activities to make the event more fun and exciting. These activities included Photography, Videography and Digital Art among others. Besides helping to encourage interaction and teamwork amongst the students, the activities also provided them with exposure to Digital Media Technology and armed them with useful Infocomm Technology (ICT) knowledge and tools.

Activity: Photography

Activity: Videography

Activity: Picture Memory

Activity: Digital Art

As a special addition to this year’s event, we organised an Adobe Photoshop workshop for teachers for the first time where they learnt how to create badges using the features on Photoshop. Trainers from our Infocomm Club were on hand to teach and guide them along and the teachers had lots of fun learning new digital skills.

Teachers’ Photoshop Workshop

We concluded the event with a prize giving ceremony following a competition we had organised earlier that tested the students’ skills and knowledge of their lessons learnt during Infocomm Club training.
A hearty congratulations to the top 3 teams who were awarded prizes that included a Wacom Pen and Touch each for the champion team, an Ipod Shuffle each for the first runners-up team and Disney Speakers for the 2nd runners-up team. We also specially prepared a thumbdrive together with a merit award medal for the rest of the students. All prizes were sponsored by Marshall Cavendish Online.

The Champion Team is all smiles

Marshall Cavendish Online is grateful for the full support received from the various schools and would like to once again thank Holy Innocents’ Primary School and all the sponsors for making this event successful.
