MC Online Pte Ltd's training department, Learning Edge, held a 3-day Professional Development Programme for all their school-based staff.

The Professional Development Programme was conducted by various programme facilitators who have vast experience in the ICT training industry.



Ms Nant Emmanuella, a double diploma holder in ICT & Pre-School Education, sharing her wealth of experience in planning, implementing & monitoring school IPW programme.

MCEnrich.com at Singapore Book Fair 2011

Marshall Cavendish Online unveiled its new initiative – MCEnrich.com during the Singapore Book Fair 2011 from 27 May to 5 June at the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

MCEnrich.com is an online portal for digitised assessment books and is the first of its kind in Singapore. Currently available for Primary school children MCEnrich.com offers a huge question bank plus many more exciting features like customized quizzes, progress tracking and focused practices. This portal truly enables the child to focus on his/her weak areas as it intelligently identifies them and sets personalised practices for remedial purpose.

The 10 day book fair saw the influx of over 300,000 visitors including parents, children and other walk-ins. There was an enthusiastic response to MCEnrich.com with parents signing up for the FREE trial which is valid till 31^st July. 

 

The Guest of honour, Ms Grace Fu, Senior Minister of State for Information, Communications and the Arts came by the MC Online booth and was even treated to a live demonstration of MCEnrich.com

Learning Edge's 3rd Annual Animation Camp 2011

After two successful animation camps, Learning Edge, the training department of MC Online Pte Ltd, held its 3rd Annual Animation Camp on Tuesday, 31st May 2011.

With the support of Holy Innocents' Primary School in providing their school premises as well as huge prize sponsorships from our good friends at Peripheral Solutions (S) Pte Ltd, the event for almost 300 students from various schools islandwide proved to be a resounding success.



This year, we have incorporated several tech games such as using Webcams for Stop Motion Animation,Wacom Tablets for Digital Sketching (as shown above) and even iPhones for Real-Time Online Multiplayer Gaming (as shown below)!

And not forgetting the more traditional games that involve physical activities that students always enjoy.



Hey, we even had our own version of the famous iPhone app, Angry Birds!

At the end of the day, everyone went home lugging prizes and experiences that they will cherish and remember until the next Annual Animation Camp!

Handicraft Workshop at Singapore Book Fair 2011

Trainers from Marshall Cavendish Online were onsite at Singapore Book Fair 2011 Times Learning+ booth to conduct a creative workshop. Children of all ages came forward from the crowd to participate in this workshop.

The kids were taught on how to make a multi-purpose basket out of ice-cream sticks which they can recycle from after they are finished with their sweet desserts. It was a fun and meaningful workshop for the kids to remember!

WrITers IgnITe 2011

 

Primary 5 students from over 10 schools participated in WrITers IgnITe – the annual essay writing competition organized by Yuhua Primary school and supported by Marshall Cavendish Online’s Writing Buddy courseware.

 

  

 

With the help of Writing Buddy the students authored very creative stories and enhanced their writing abilities!

 

 

The prize-giving ceremony was held at Yuhua Primary school on 25th May 2011 and winners were treated with exciting prizes which included an Apple iPad.

WrITers, IgnITe! - Day of Event

More than 90 Primary 5 pupils participated in WrITers, IgnITe! 2011 held at Yuhua Primary School. The pupils were tasked with writing an essay on the day itself and winners will be announced later in May 2011. Thanks to all the school who participated and looking forward to the awards ceremony soon!
