MC Online's Infocomm Club Students Shine At KWN Awards Ceremony 2012

Not even 12 years old and already making leaps and bounds into the world of film and animation, 15 precocious young students coached by Marshall Cavendish Online's (MC Online's) Infocomm Club trainers made their fantastic debut at the Singapore leg of Panasonic’s Kid Witness News (KWN) Video Competition 2012.  Marshall Cavendish Online (MC Online) would like to congratulate the 3 teams of 5 from Chongzheng Primary School, St Gabriel’s Primary School and Huamin Primary School for their stellar performance at the final round of the national competition. The 3 schools are currently under MC Online's Infocomm Club training programme that aims to instill students with a good grounding in Digital Media Technology and empower them to create innovative works of their own.

Held on 16 November 2012 at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, the awards ceremony concluded the Singapore round of the global video competition. MC Online is proud to announce that under the Infocomm Club's trainers' guidance, the Primary 4 team from Chongzheng Primary School clinched The Tune Award for the Best Sound with their video Toby’s Not So Perfect Example, and that the Primary 5 team from St Gabriel’s Primary School received the prestigious Young Film Maker Award with their video The Magical Bottle.

Aimed at boosting creativity and communication while encouraging teamwork, the competition allowed the participants to tap on their expansive imaginations and brainstorm their own storylines with their peers. MC Online’s Infocomm Club trainers helped to facilitate the scriptwriting, filming and post-production process. Mr Jason Lek, St Gabriel’s Primary School’s Infocomm Club trainer even accompanied the students to Bishan Park to film on location.

Over a period of 3 months, the students worked hard refining their scripts and bringing their storyboards to life with MC Online’s trainers on hand to offer their advice and expedite the editing process. They've certainly reaped the fruits of their labour!
